Prize package!

Hello everyone!

Anyone interested in winning a huge prize package of Paper Crafting goodness?

As you know from my last post I spent this past weekend in Wausau, WI at the Nosser's Summer convention. I had a fantastic time crafting with so many fun folks! I love, and I mean really love doing events like this. It is so much fun for me getting to meet so many people and spending the day doing something crafty!

At this event I taught so many folks how to use several Fiskars tools. Each participant left with a complete 8"x8" page layout. I always encourage creativity at my make and takes and workshops and it is fun to see how creative folks get. I always walk away so inspired by each person who was in my class or make and take. So huge thanks to each and every one of you who inspire me in so many ways!

Ok, see the photos above? This is what one of you very lucky blog readers will win! Yes, one of you will in fact win this entire prize package! Here is what you will win:

Fiskars XL Oopsie Daisy squeeze punch
Fiskars LX Loves Me Loves Me Not squeeze punch
Fiskars Something Old, Something new corner squeeze punch
Fiskars Heart pop up punch
Fiskars tape runner
Fiskars Glue Dots
Fiskars Acrylic Stamp block set
Heidi Grace Urban Acres Blvd stamp set
Wausau Papers Cardstock to create your own layout

Wausau Papers graciously donated all the beautiful cardstock for this make and take. I will tell you that folks doing the make and take fell in love with the Astrobrights Glisten collection. It comes in a variety of colors and has a very sparkly/shimmery appearance which is beautiful.

Fiskars also generously donated all the tools and adhesives to create the layout you see above. Fiskars tools are top quality and if you have never used the squeeze punches you really should try them out. I had several people at the make and take who had never tried a Fiskars tool and they fell in love with what they could create with them! They are so easy to use! Nothing better than Fiskars tools for creating fantastic paper crafting projects!

How do you win? Read below-

Link to my blog on a message board, your blog, facebook, Twitter, or somewhere else to let others know about this contest. Then post a comment on this Prize Package thread with a link to where you posted and your name.

Easy enough? I will draw a random winner on Friday July 3rd! Make sure you come back to see if you were chosen!

Events!

I absolutely love teaching, doing demos, or doing make and takes! I love this for two reasons:

1. I love being with people, talking, learning about them and learning from them! People energize me!

2. I love inspiring others and I also love being inspired by others!

My dream would be to travel the world and teach at Scrapbooking events! I love designing classes and teaching them! Unfortunately I do not get to do this as frequently as I would like.

I do have a couple of events that I get to do this at.

Saturday June 27 I will be at Nosser's Summer Convention in Wausau, WI. I will be doing an 8"x8" scrapbook page make and take from noon-2:00. If you happen to be in the Wausau area or want to make the trip here is the info.

http://www.nossers.com/summer-convention.html

September 17-20 I will be teaching classes, working the make and take booth, and doing nightly crops with Cosmo Cricket! This event is held at the Mall of America in Minnesota and sponsored by Archiver's. This will be my 3rd year doing this event with Cosmo Cricket! Archiver's doesn't have the site live yet but it should be soon. For now you can go to the link below to see dates and a little more information, more detailed info will be posted soon. This is a fantastic event because I get to be fully immersed for the entire weekend with fellow Paper Crafters! A dream come true for me!

I'd love to know if you will be at either event so if you think you will make it post a comment in this thread and let me know! I'd love to meet you in person!

Your opinions please!

Ok, I have been staring at my blog and I think it is totally boring! Really.........other than my posts nothing very colorful about it! Not that my posts are always that colorful either...LOL. I've been considering doing a blog make-over but decided to get your opinions before I do anything!

So would you visit more often or send more people to look if I had a cute and dressed up blog? Or, doesn't it make any difference to you what it looks like?

Please share...post a commment and let me know what you like about my blog, what you don't like, and if you think it needs to be spruced up!

My very first Canvas project

Ok, I have avoided doing any type of canvas for a long time. I've seen many beautiful pieces but until recently have not tried it.

This is a canvas project I created using the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird line. Isn't this perfect to hang in a kitchen? What a bright and cheery way to start your day!

Update: I've had a question about paper on canvas so I thought I'd update this thread with some info. Basically how I did this canvas was to paint it with a light coat of acrylic paint. It takes about 15-20 minutes for a light coat to dry and the more you put on the longer it takes. You could also work directly on the canvas as well. Then I used a liquid adhesive product called Zip Dry for attaching the paper to the canvas. Other than that, I treated this project just like a scrapbook page! I'm sure there are more techniques on the internet for canvas, but I have not done any searching since I decided to start out simple!

So leave me a comment and let me know if you have worked with canvas! And if you are up to sharing your canvas design with everyone make sure you leave a link in the comments section! I would love to be inspired by others who have more canvas experience than I do!

Giveaway and some fun!

So I was asked by Cosmo Cricket to work on a project for them. My assignment was to alter the 7 Gypsies Binderie punch. Well as always I wanted to do something clever. It took me a couple days of staring at the punch and staring at Early Bird which is the line I was dying to use! Then it was like that little Cosmo chipboard toaster jumped right off the Ready-Set-Chip sheet and hit me smack dab in the face! A toaster I thought...with a matching toaster cover! So that is what you see in the picture above!

Check out my creation and all the other guests and manufacturers that were asked to participate over on the 7 Gypsies website.

http://www.sevengypsies.com/#allpunches

Next I want to have a little Early Bird fun on my blog! So below the photo of the altered 7 Gypsies Binderie punch is a cute little kit I put together of the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird collection. Want to win it? See below-

1. Leave a comment under this blog post telling me why you want to win the kit.
2. For a second entry add yourself as a follower to my blog.
3. For a 3rd entry send at least 3 people you know over to my blog to leave a comment mentioning your name as the person who sent them.

Just think, with this little kit you can alter your own 7Gypsies Binderie and make your own little toaster cover!

I will draw a random winner from all posts below to receive this great Cosmo Cricket Early Bird mini kit on Friday June 12th. So the more entries you have, the better your chances of winning!

Oh and I was asked how I created the cover. I posted in the comment section below!
