I am home!

I arrived home yesterday from my Cricut Road Show in Grafton. What fun I had! I met so many people and really enjoyed 5 consecutive days of "talking crafts." I just love hearing what people are creating and love sharing what I have created as well. Thanks to so many of you who stopped by to visit and for those of you who decided on the spot that you had to have the Cricut. It is the best electronic die cutting machine on the market and so much fun!

Almost there!

We are almost to 75 comments in the post below and once we are at 75 I will choose a winner. Hopefully it will happen in the next 24 hours, otherwise it will have to wait until I return from out of town.

I will be at Costco in Grafton, WI working for Provo Craft for a few days and will not be posting to the blog while I am gone. So I am not intentionally neglecting my blog for the next week and a half, just not around!

So big push, send everyone you know so I can draw a winner in the next 24 hours and get the prize in the mail before I leave!

Out with the Old, In with the New!!!

Ok, if you have been following things that last few days you saw some pictures of our fireplace. I ripped it all out and hired a friend of ours to custom make a new fireplace for us. He did a beautiful job...perfection I say!

Anyway, I promised I would share photos of the new fireplace and he finished the install today. He also really encouraged us to add an outlet on the top for lighting at Christmas and other times. So that is what you see in the center of the mantle top.

Let me know what you think!

Update on House remodel!

Ok, yesterday my fireplace guy was here to work on the installation. Hopfully by today the fireplace will be installed and I can take a photo to post later or maybe by tomorrow.

Carepeting comes on Thursday, still have to rip out the old to prep. All the walls have been painted and I did one accent wall in a burgundy red color. Very bold for me I must say but I think since I started doing paper Craft design I've gotten more bold with other things as well.

Furniture delivered on Friday and I cannot wait. I cannot wait to get settled in again and get organized. We have furniture everywhere! It is a mess, a huge mess in my house. I want to be back to normal!

Stay tuned......I will be posting soon with the fireplace and then of course the new furniture and carpeting later in the week. Once I get all of this done I should have some paper crafting time again!

Different kind of design!

I've been pretty busy. Doing what you are probably wondering? Well, I have a major house remodeling project going on. See the picture above? This was our fireplace when we moved into this house about 8 years ago. When we looked at the house and decided to purchase it was keeping in mind that we both hated the fireplace and that was going to be the first thing to go. Well once we moved in and had the carpeting professionally cleaned we found out there were huge issues in the carpeting due to former pets in the home. The only solution was to recarpet the entire house. Definately not our plan and definately not in our budget. So that meant that the fireplace and floor entry tile would need to wait.

Well here we are 8 years later finally getting to it! So I took all the wood off the fireplace and all the tile off the floor. I love home projects! Anyway, we hired a professional to cut the tile off the wall and then replace the drywall behind it. The same guy is also making us a custom fireplace.

The new tile was installed Wednesday and grouted yesterday. I'm not going to give any peeks yet as I want to wait until the fireplace is done which will be sometime this coming week. So pop back over and check for the updates!

The sneak peeks above are the projects of the month for the Wausau Paper Creative collection. These are both related to fall. One is a party favor for halloween and the other is a pumpkin patch layout. Both are made using the beautiful textures and colored cardstock from the Wausau paper Creative collection. I would love to win this so that I could make the frame and then wax over it and give it to my daughter for her daughters room. I guess that makes me the grandma. I hate that word. I sent me over does that count? If not Lisa give the extra to Tami from MN
